Hello there. So you want to know what our Merthyr is? Well Our Merthyr is a voluntary organization that aims to support the rights of people across Merthyr Tydfil. The campaign also aims upon getting people to have their say on how Merthyr Tydfil is run and getting local councillors listening to us. This can be on a wide range of topics from Education right through to the Environment its up to you what you put into the campaign and we will pass all the information on through to the Council or in certain cases Assembly members and even MP’s. The campaign was started in January 2007 which now makes it one year old although there is still very much to do as I believe that we currently need many more members to get the authorities listening to us. At present I personally am working upon a new area within this campaign to get the council listening to young people across the Merthyr Tydfil Area. Young people in Merthyr can be very valuable to the town and to our community in a whole as they are the next generation to come through.

My name is Marc Evans I am a currently studying for a BTEC National Diploma in Care at Coleg Morgannwg, Pontypridd, I am in my final year. I have applied to Birmingham city university, University West of England in Bristol, Cardiff University, Plymouth University. I currently have offers from Birmingham and Bristol. I have an interest in Welsh Politics generally but will occasionally watch Westminster debates. I support Plaid Cymru in Wales because I believe that they listen to people much more than other political parties and their policies make a lot of sense to me.
